Kaluma Boy
Thousands of Kenyans gathered at JCM Church in Ruiru for a thanksgiving service in honor of 17-year-old TikToker Vincent Kagwe, popularly known as Kaluma Boy. He became famous for openly caring for his father, who suffered a stroke, showing love and responsibility far beyond his age.

During the service, Bishop Ben Kamau, also known as Muthee Kiengei, announced that Kaluma Boy had been awarded a full scholarship to the East African University, where he will study Sales and Marketing with a focus on digital marketing. The announcement was received with loud cheers from the packed church, which recorded its largest crowd since its launch

In an emotional moment, congregants and online supporters raised over KSh 2 million in just 30 minutes to support Kaluma Boy’s mother. Many pledged more help, including a shop and posho mill to give the family financial stability. His mother could not hold back tears of joy as Kenyans, especially youths and fellow content creators, stood with her family during this special day.

Bishop Kiengei also revealed that his ambulance, which had already transported Kaluma Boy’s father to the church, would be handed over as the first asset of a planned hospital project that content creators and donors want to establish.
Kaluma Boy’s story has inspired many Kenyans. Despite his young age, he has shown courage, love, and sacrifice, proving that true heroism is found in small acts of care done with a big heart.
