Raila Odinga
Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has passed away while receiving treatment in Kochi, India. Reports indicate that he collapsed during a morning walk at an Ayurvedic hospital where he had been undergoing care.
Doctors at Devamatha Hospital in Koothattukulam confirmed that Odinga suffered a cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead at 9:52 a.m. (Indian time). His body is currently being preserved at the facility as official procedures begin.
Odinga had travelled to India with his daughter, Rosemary Odinga, who has been receiving Ayurvedic treatment at Sreedhareeyam Hospital — the same institution that previously helped her partially regain her eyesight.
Indian authorities have notified the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) to initiate repatriation arrangements in accordance with international protocol.
