Nairobi is in shock after the killing of prominent lawyer Mathew Kyalo Mbobu, a respected legal mind and former chairman of the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal.
Kyalo was shot dead on Tuesday morning while driving along Magadi Road in Nairobi. According to witnesses, two gunmen riding on a motorcycle pulled up to his car, opened fire, and sped off. The attack happened while he was stuck in traffic.
Police rushed to the scene and have confirmed that investigations are underway to track down the killers.
Kyalo Mbobu’s career in law spanned nearly three decades. He also worked as a lecturer at Multimedia University, where he mentored many young lawyers.
News of his death has left his family, colleagues, and former students heartbroken. Leaders, fellow lawyers, and Kenyans from all walks of life have sent their condolences, describing him as a dedicated professional and mentor whose impact will be deeply missed.
