Activist Boniface Mwangi believes one day Weston Hotel will be demolished
The interwebs are awash with questions whether Weston Hotel, owned by President William Ruto will be part of the Government’s demolition plans in the year 2026.
This development came up following the demolition of private businesses that included a car wash, carpet cleaning business, kinyozi, and other micro and small businesses were demolished near Nyayo Stadium.

The demolished businesses were sitting on land leased to Kiambu Governor, Kimani Wamatangi, by Kenya Railways but were destroyed in the night under heavy security protection, and the supervisory eye of Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen.
Since the days when Langata Road Primary School pupils were teargassed, and five of the children and a police officer injured, Kenyans have sought demolition of the hotel that sits on airspace development land, following its close proximity to Wilson Airport.
Activist Boniface Mwangi wrote, “Reclaiming public land shouldn’t be a midnight vendetta. Innocent citizens had their cars destroyed. If we’re flattening Wamatangi’s property, let’s apply that same energy to all stolen public land. Today’s precedent is great because one day Weston Hotel will be demolished!”

He also added that the Governor was being fought because of his refusal in allowing the affordable housing project to be undertaken on county land.
“When politicians fight, innocent people lose. Ruto is fighting Wamatangi because he refused to allow affordable houses to be built on county land in Kiambu! I support reclaiming public property, and one day bulldozers will flatten Weston Hotel. One day.”
The affordable housing program has attracted negativity from Kenyans because of many gaps in its implementation with Kenyans raising questions that remain unanswered.
The red herring of the affordable housing program has been the compulsory increase of taxation to working Kenyans to finance their construction, despite some of them already being homeowners.
