President of the Republic of Kenya William Ruto
Your Excellency Dr. William Samoei Ruto, CGH
President of the Republic of Kenya
Your Excellency,
With the utmost respect for your office and leadership, I humbly appeal for your personal intervention in the ongoing issue involving the Governor of Kiambu County, H.E. Dr. Kimani Wamatangi. This matter has now escalated beyond county politics and calls for clear presidential attention.
Dr. Wamatangi is among the few leaders who have consistently kept the dream, spirit, and objectives of the UDA party alive at the grassroots. His leadership style and development agenda are visibly aligned with your national vision. Anyone who walks into his offices will immediately notice something symbolic yet powerful—your portrait stands prominently, often higher than his own. This is not by accident, but a clear sign of his respect for the Presidency and loyalty to your leadership.
Whether or not the public understands the internal political relationships does not matter. What truly matters is the shared constitutional responsibility both of you owe to this great nation. Sadly, it is becoming increasingly evident that the same individuals tarnishing your image nationally are also targeting and frustrating leaders who genuinely share your vision and work tirelessly to deliver it.
Your Excellency, Kiambu voted for you. I voted for you. We believed in the message you sold to the nation. Today, it is no secret that political goodwill has declined—not because of your vision, but largely because of the characters surrounding you. I cannot promise that hearts will be won back overnight, but decisive action and wise choices can rebuild trust. A good place to start is by addressing the injustice facing Kiambu’s Governor.
The destruction of Governor Wamatangi’s businesses and properties did not only hurt Kiambu residents—it shocked the entire nation. As a self-declared hustler, you understand better than most the pain, sacrifice, and discipline it takes to build wealth from humble beginnings. Wamatangi is a hustler too. He deserves justice, not intimidation.
Great nations thrive when top leadership listens to and is supported by voices from below. Silence at this moment is costly. Do not let another day pass without saying something. You owe it to Kiambu, and to Kenyans who still believe in fair leadership.
As the saying goes, the ear of the leader must ring with the voices of the people. And kindly remember, Mr. President, that in our democracy, the only title superior to that of President is that of Citizen.
Yours faithfully,
Peter M. Njenga
