Police in Kikuyu have arrested the principal of PCEA Mai-a-Ihii Booth Boys High School following allegations of sexually abusing multiple male students.
The school’s Board of Management (BOM) chairperson has also been taken into custody for allegedly attempting to obstruct justice by seeking an out-of-court settlement.
The allegations came to light after several students disclosed the details of the suspected abuse to their parents, who subsequently reported the matters to the authorities. According to investigators, the alleged incidents took place inside the principal’s office.

The principal has been formally charged with committing an indecent act with a child.
The BOM chairperson faces charges of obstruction of justice. Both suspects remain in police custody as detectives continue to record statements from students, parents, and other potential witnesses to establish if more learners were affected.
Student Accounts Reveal Details of the Incidents
According to investigative files and accounts shared by affected students, the alleged abuse occurred under the guise of official school consultations.

In one detailed account, a student recalled being summoned to the principal’s office, ostensibly to discuss attending an upcoming academic symposium.
“The student was invited to the office and asked if he wanted to attend a Mathematics symposium,” investigators noted. “
After the student declined and requested to be considered for a Chemistry event instead, the principal allegedly approached him, touched him inappropriately, and attempted to force physical contact.”
According to the student’s statement, the ordeal was abruptly interrupted when a parent knocked on the office door seeking an audience with the principal, allowing the student to escape the room.
The arrests have sparked concern among parents and the local community, with many calling for swift justice and thorough counseling support for the affected minors.
Police have assured the public that investigations are being conducted thoroughly and sensitively to protect the identities of the minors involved.
