A young mother with her 3-month-old baby
A young mother went missing on Sunday together with her 3-month-old baby. She later returned home on Monday, but without the baby. When her family asked where the child was, she first said she had taken the baby to a children’s home in Kandara.
After more questioning, the truth came out. The mother admitted that she had strangled her baby and later dumped the body in a toilet pit at Gacharage Primary School in Kandara.
The body of the little baby was recovered from the toilet, and the mother was arrested. She is now being held at Kandara Police Station.
Many people are calling for her to be taken to hospital for a medical checkup to see if she may have been suffering from postpartum depression.
This tragedy has left the community in deep shock. May the innocent baby rest in peace.
