A weekend poll conducted through various digital channels has revealed former President Uhuru Kenyatta as the most influential leader in Kiambu County.
The survey, which reached hundreds of respondents including sitting and former Members of Parliament (MPs) and Members of County Assembly (MCAs), found that the former President’s influence still resonates strongly within the region.
The poll, which focused on the impact of four prominent leaders in the County, the National Assembly, State House, and a former President, ranked Governor Kimani Wamatangi as a close second. Having served as Senator for two consecutive terms, and initiated different development projects as Governor for two years (now), Wamatangi has managed to secure a significant position in the eyes and hearts of Kiambu residents.
In third place was Majority Leader Kimani Ichungwah, who while influential, was found to be a distant contender behind Wamatangi. Moses Kuria, Economic Advisor, was ranked fourth in the poll, which signaled a reducing influence of the vocal former MP, and Cabinet Secretary.

The poll results highlighted the diverse political dynamics in Kiambu County, where the influence of both national and local leaders continued to play a pivotal role. Future polls would also serve as a valuable tool to track shifts in public opinion and offer a more detailed perspective on the trends in Kiambu County.
