On January 16, 2025, Beth Muthoni, a 44-year-old single mother from Kagumoini Gatundu South, left her home to pray and fast, seeking a breakthrough in her life.
18 January 2025, her body was discovered at the Kimunyu shrine caves. She was found with her head forcibly lodged between rocks, her jaw injured, and signs of blunt force trauma. Empty bottles with unknown fluids were discovered near the body suggesting she may have been drugged before being killed.
The Kimunyu shrine, typically known for prayer and worship is now a focus of concern and questioning about the circumstances of her murder.
