Irungu Kangata
H.E. Dr. Irungu Kang’ata, Governor of Murang’a County, together with the M.C.A for Kanyenya-ini Ward, visited a family in Gichumi village, Kangema Sub-county, where they delivered a wedding support package worth Ksh.10,000 under the Kang’atacare program.
In a show of goodwill, the Governor also presented the couple with a personal gift to congratulate them on renewing their vows. Later, Kang’atacare officials visited another family in Gaitega village, Mbiri Ward, Kiharu Constituency, where a similar wedding support package of Ksh.10,000 was issued, along with additional hampers courtesy of the Murang’a County Government.

These initiatives form part of the broader Kang’atacare program—a collaboration between Murang’a County Government and Britam Insurance—offering social support benefits to over 40,000 households. Among these benefits are a childbirth support package of Ksh.10,000 issued upon provision of a birth certificate, a last expense package of Ksh.100,000 to assist families in the event of the death of a principal member aged 75 or below, and a secondary school fees package of Ksh.25,000 to support children’s education should the principal member pass away. In addition to these financial benefits, Kang’atacare also provides extensive health services including inpatient and outpatient care, optical and dental services, treatment abroad, and ambulance evacuation, further underscoring the County Government’s commitment to enhancing the welfare and dignity of Murang’a residents.
