Orthodox Priest
In a world where politics and religion often exist in uneasy tension, one man in Kiambu County has defied the norm—seamlessly straddling both altars and assemblies with humility and unwavering commitment.
Father George Kimani Njoroge, the area Member of the County Assembly (MCA) for Nachu Ward in Kikuyu Sub-County, is not your typical politician. A devoted servant of the Orthodox Church, Father Kimani continues to wear his clergy vestments proudly—even when inspecting county projects.
With a soft voice but a firm conviction, he has emerged as one of the region’s most respected and approachable leaders. This unusual but powerful combination has allowed him to bridge two worlds many consider separate—faith and governance. Residents speak of him with deep admiration. “He listens, he prays with us, and he brings development,” says Mama Jane Wambui, a trader at the recently upgraded Lusigetti Market. Working closely with Governor Kimani Wamatangi, Father Kimani has spearheaded transformative projects: Lusigetti Market, solar-powered street lighting, Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) centres, and the installation of essential medical equipment.

Father Kimani’s story is a reminder that leadership is not about choosing between the pulpit and public office—it is about living a life of mission and meaning, wherever one is called to serve.
