Kennedy Kalombotole
Kennedy Kalombotole, the prime suspect in the shocking Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) ward killings, has been arrested by homicide detectives. He is linked to the brutal murders of two patients: Edward Maingi Ndegwa, found with his throat slit in Ward 7B on July 17, 2025, and Gilbert Kinyua Muthoni, who was killed between February 6 and 7, 2025.

According to the management of KNH, Kalombotole was a homeless man with no known relatives, who had been discharged from the hospital in January 2025. However, he remained within the facility as the hospital searched for alternative accommodation. In an official statement, the hospital clarified that while they had no intention of hosting him indefinitely, they were forced to allow his continued stay due to a lack of alternatives and pending direction from investigative agencies.

Kalombotole was originally admitted to KNH on December 1, 2024, and is now under custody, undergoing police processing ahead of his arraignment. Authorities are treating both murder cases as serious security breaches and investigations are ongoing.
