Governor Kimani Wamatangi at the Senate to present the case for Thika Industrial Smart City
Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi has just arrived at the Senate 11.30am for a sitting with the Devolution and Intergovernmental Affairs Committee to progress on realising Thika Industrial Smart City.
The sitting includes Senators Onyonka Senator Mohammed Abass Sheikh (Chair), Vice Chairperson Catherine Muyeka (Vice Chair), Richard Onyonka, Oginga Oburu, Chute Mohammed Said, and Karungo Thangwa among others. Also present are Deputy Speaker John Njiru, Majority Leader Godfrey Mucheke, Kamenu MCA Peter Mburu, and Thika Municipal Manager Gathii Kanyi.
The realisation of Thika Industrial Smart City is in its final stages at the Senate, after which the President will assent to it, and Thika will become the 6th City in Kenya, and the 1st City in Mount Kenya.
