Former President Uhuru Kenyatta and Rigathi Gachagua
Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has called on Jubilee Party members to stop engaging in abusive and divisive politics. Speaking during a grassroots meeting in Murang’a on Friday, Uhuru said he was disappointed by some officials who use social media to insult other leaders, including Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

“I’m saddened to see people who pretend to defend the party by insulting Gachagua and others. I don’t want that nonsense in my party. People should do their politics with respect,” he said. Uhuru warned that if such behavior continues, he will expose and remove those involved, even before handing over the party leadership.
The former Head of State also cautioned Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni against leading members in attacking other leaders, saying the party should focus on unity and growth. He urged officials to spend their energy promoting the party’s vision and attracting new members, not creating division online.
During the meeting, Uhuru expressed support for former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, saying he believes Matiang’i has the ability to lead the country. He clarified that his support is not personal but based on Matiang’i’s proven work record and leadership experience.
