President William Ruto
A Message to H.E. President William Ruto.
President William Ruto should exercise great caution regarding the current happenings in Kiambu County.
In the last General Election, President Ruto won by a margin of about 200,000 votes nationwide. Notably, Kiambu County overwhelmingly supported him, delivering close to 98% of the votes cast in Kiambu county in his favour.
Today, Kiambu County has nearly 1.3 million registered voters. If the President were to lose even 80% of the votes cast in Kiambu, his path to re-election would be severely compromised.
Kiambu remains a decisive political battleground, and its voice cannot be ignored.
I urge the President not to rely on advice from individuals such as Ichung’wah and Alice, whose actions and rhetoric are steadily making the political environment more hostile for him on the ground. Their approach is alienating the very people whose support is critical.
The President should revisit past incidents such as the video where Kururia displayed arrogance before the people of Kiambu when he introduced Wamatangi as an outgoing governor. That moment significantly damaged UDA’s standing in the county and left a lasting impression.
The politics of witch-hunts, victimisation, intimidation, and arrogance are no longer acceptable currency in Kiambu County.
The people are discerning, bold, and demand respect, fairness, and development-focused leadership.
Ignoring these realities would be a costly political mistake.
