The body of five-year-old Travis Wanjohi Nderitu, who had been missing for several weeks, has been found near River Ragati in Karatina, Nyeri County.
Travis, a pupil at Blue Rose Academy, disappeared on the evening of March 30, 2026, while playing near his home at the Veterinary Staff Residential Quarters close to Karatina Hospital. According to reports, he was last seen at around 6:00 PM playing within the compound before he failed to return home.
His family immediately began searching for him and later reported the matter at Karatina Police Station at around 8:20 PM the same night. The disappearance sparked a massive search involving family members, residents, and local authorities.
The search came to a tragic end after the boy’s remains were discovered near River Ragati in the Saigon area of Karatina. Reports say the body was badly decomposed, with some body parts detached, leaving residents shocked and heartbroken.
The horrific discovery has caused anger and sadness among residents and Kenyans online, with many calling for speedy investigations and justice for the young boy. Police have launched investigations into the incident.
