Gilbert Kinyua
Police are investigating the brutal murder of a 39 year old Gilbert Kinyua who was attacked inside ward 7B at Kenyatta National Hospital.
The patient was found dead in his bed, lying cold with his throat slit, blood spattered all over.
Gilbert had been admitted to the hospital last year in December suffering from a cerebral disorder where he had been convalescing
Another patient sharing the ward with Gilbert was too weak to account for what happened.
The nurse on duty claimed she did her routine rounds on Thursday at 3 a.m., and Gilbert was okay, only to be confronted with a bloody scene Friday morning.
Investigators learned that the hospital’s CCTV cameras were not working at the time of the incident.
The attack for the second time has exposed serious security lapses at the Country’s largest referral hospital and it’s inability to protect it’s patients.
The hospital wards are meant to be a haven for healing. Who wanted Gilbert dead? And why?
