Femicide as Seth Nyakio is Sexually Assaulted and Murdered in Thika
Sad news engulfed the nation of Kenya and gripped more than 50% of females living in the country following the murder of Seth Nyakio, a 23-year-old lady, in Thika.
Ms Nyakio recently graduated from Zetech University and was looking forward to life outside college, but her dreams were cut short over the weekend when her mother said ‘though they spoke on Saturday, she could not reach her on Sunday’.
The mother, however, received a phone call that forever shattered her life that her only child had been killed and her body found in Biafra, Thika. The mother reached out to the police and they found the body of her daughter naked and lifeless on a bed.
Police said that the lady was sexually assaulted before the murderer strangled her to death; the heinous act probably happened on Monday, Mashujaa Day 2024 (20th October 2024).
Though unconfirmed the estranged boyfriend is suspected of the murder, adding to the cases of femicide in the country.
