Kimani Wamatangi
Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi has so far constructed to conclusion, 247 model ECDE centers. In February, he started the construction of another 62 centers, which will be completed by June of this year.
All the centers are identical. They have PP1 and PP2 classrooms, an administrative office in the middle, and separate ablution blocks for teachers and learners. They also have play areas comprising swings, tunnels, and sand pits, similar to those in private academies.
Further, has a free feeding program where children get a cup of nutritious uji every day. They eat boiled eggs on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Every Thursday, they drink a packet of milk under “Maziwa Freshi na Wamatangi”.
