Harambee stars vs Morocco
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has stopped selling tickets for all upcoming matches at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, including next Sunday’s much-anticipated Kenya vs Zambia clash.
This decision comes after major safety and security problems were reported during the Harambee Stars’ recent game against Morocco. Before and during that match, a gate was broken, allowing fans without tickets to enter. The stadium became overcrowded, far beyond its safe capacity. Some people forced their way into the media centre, disrupting journalists who were covering the game. Tear gas was also used at the venue, adding to the chaos and putting fans’ safety at risk.

CAF’s disciplinary and safety committees have now launched an investigation into the incidents. They will be reviewing security measures, interviewing witnesses, and working closely with Kenyan authorities to determine who was responsible and how to prevent such problems in the future.
The suspension of ticket sales is expected to remain in place until CAF is confident that safety and order can be guaranteed at the stadium. This means that fans planning to attend the Kenya vs Zambia match, or any other game at Kasarani in the near future, will have to wait for official updates.
The Harambee Stars’ match against Morocco was supposed to be a joyful and exciting occasion for Kenyan football, but the security breaches have left many supporters disappointed and concerned. Local football authorities are now under pressure to improve crowd control, ticketing systems, and emergency response plans before fans are allowed back in large numbers.
CAF has stressed that the safety of players, officials, and supporters is its top priority, and that strong action will be taken to avoid a repeat of the incidents that marred the Morocco game.
