A newborn baby rescued after being found buried alive near Ngabubu Dam in Gachie is now recovering well at Kihara Level 4 Hospital.

The infant, believed to be only a few days old, was discovered partially buried with only the face visible above the soil. Good Samaritans quickly rescued the baby and rushed her to hospital with help from police officers.

Hospital staff, who named her “Baby Jane Doe,” say she has been stabilised and is receiving care at the Newborn Unit. Medical staff have also urged the public to support pregnant and new mothers, especially those facing postpartum depression.
