Kimani Ichungwah National Majority Leader
During a church service in Nairobi, the leader of the Majority in the National Assembly, Kimani Ichungwah directed the President to shake off the snake on his hand.
Many associated the snake to mean the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua whom the Majority Leader has been openly criticising.
President William Ruto is a close friend of MP Ichungwah, who during the 2022 campaigns said he would not mind becoming a makanga (matatu tout) for the then DP Ruto.
MP Ichungwah was rewarded post-elections with the powerful position of Majority Leader where he controls hundreds of MPs, convenes meetings, and strategically positions the ruling class.
As a guest on a local radio station, MP Ichungwah was asked if he would support the impeachment of the Deputy President, and he failed to give a straight answer.
The impeachment motion is expected in the National Assembly the week of 23rd to 29th of September 2024 in Kenya.
The Mount Kenya MPs and other leaders have created factions and distanced themselves from DP Rigathi, however, he remains a darling of the people who call him by the moniker Riggy-G. He is also loved because he says that he is a truthful man, speaking the truth all the time.
