Allan Kioko Kitavi
Police are investigating the killing of 66-year-old Allan Kioko Kitavi, a lecturer at the Kenya Power and Lighting Company Training School, who was found dead at his second wife’s home in Thome Estate, Kasarani. At first, Kitavi’s second wife told police that on July 31, 2025, he came home at around 5:00 p.m., then left to run errands at a nearby shopping centre and never returned.

The family claimed they later found his body about 25 metres from the house that night. However, CCTV footage tells a different story. At 7:30 p.m., two unknown men were seen casually walking into the compound. At 8:00 p.m., Kitavi arrived home and went inside. Between 8:40 p.m. and 8:41 p.m., the two men left, with one wearing black trousers and a white cap. Detectives believe Kitavi was killed inside the house during the 40 minutes between his arrival and the suspects’ departure. Police have since arrested Stephen Kioko, Kitavi’s step-son, as a suspect in the murder. It has also emerged that two months earlier, Kitavi had reported the loss of important documents, including academic certificates, land title deeds, and a vehicle logbook, at Kasarani Police Station.
